Aghoris!!!

Tuesday, March 17, 2009
The film 'Nan Kadavul' insitgated me to write this topic on Aghoris.
One side of India is showing a massive development in the field of Science&Technology. But the other side which i am gonna write about is really shocking and bit disturbing. What is Cannabalism?Eating of human flesh by another human being.Do these kind of practices exist?Yes,not in Africa or some other part of world but for India.Who are Aghoris? This is a small sect of people calling themselves as the incarnations of Lord Shiva.

The Aghoris distinguish themselves from other Hindu sects and priests by their alcoholic and cannibalistic rituals. The corpses, which may be either pulled from a river [including Ganges] or obtained from cremation grounds, are consumed raw as the Aghoris believe that what others consider as a "dead man" is, in fact, nothing but a natural matter devoid of the life force it once contained. Therefore, while for ordinary folks it may be called cannibalism, for them it's using what is useless for the rest of the world. In fact, they claim to be scientists trying to discover how matter converts from one form to another.

The white powders over their body are believed to be ashes of the burnt dead bodies.

It is believed that they consume alcohols and drugs in their practise of meditation.Lot of saints used to live in remote places of Himalayas and Forests. Over a period of time meditating they found out certain chemical changes transport you to different world. Before coming to real world they wanted to experience the feelings of drugs which made absolute surrender, where they found the beauty of nature and God. Unfortunately they could not sustain the beauty of the vision for a long time, the moment drug effect came down they come back to the real world.

Aghoris eating dead bodies after performing their rituals.I would weak hearted persons not to watch this video

Likewise you can witness the same in the religion of Christianity where it is believed that God is seen while you make love.

The powers of the Aghoris are that the dead bodies being blessed by them do not have rebirths.
This invokes me to witness the same in person.Hope i soon go to Kasi(North India)!!!!

Ela Pugazhum Rahman nu ke!!

"Ela Pugazhum Iraivunuke" the words uttered by our Maestro A.R.Rahman made every Indian,in particular every Tamilian proud. This has bought the Indian Music Fraternity under the spot light.I would say that Rahman does not deserve the Oscars for this movie alone, those were his usual numbers, there are certain exceptional compositions from him like Bombay Theme,Vidai Kudu Engal Nade(Kannathil Muthamittal),Jaage Hain(Guru) .....whic are considered to be the evergreen hits from him.Anyways thanks to his meticulous efforts for taking the Indian music worldwide. In the near future, it would be our turn to dominate the Oscars if our directors come out with some exceptional films.
